Submission Guidelines
SUBMISSIONS ARE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. PLEASE CHECK BACK HERE FOR UPDATES.
We welcome all submissions and consider everything that is sent to us.
We only accept submissions sent via email as a Word Document or PDF, clearly laid out and readable. We cannot accept Pages documents, Google documents or WeTransfer and Dropbox downloads.
Please email all submissions to submissions@captivatepublishing.co.uk with your FULL NAME and BOOK TITLE in the subject line.
For fiction submissions we require:

the first three chapters of your manuscript

a one page synopsis
For non-fiction submissions we require:
-
your proposal document
-
a writing sample
For children's picture book submissions we require:
-
full manuscript
-
illustrations
In your covering letter we would like to hear:
-
a bit about yourself, your aspirations for writing, favourite author/s and anything else
-
the target market and genre of your writing
-
any competitions or prizes you may have won
We do not accept postal submissions – any material submitted in this way will not be considered and will be recycled.
Our turnaround time
You should expect to hear from us within 6-10 weeks of us receiving your work. If you haven’t heard from us after that time, please make sure you check your junk folders, then feel free to email us and follow up.
Sending detailed feedback
If we have decided not to offer representation on the basis of the material you’ve sent in, we will reply with a brief note. Unfortunately, we are unable to send detailed critiques. However, if we have asked you to send us your manuscript in full, we’ll always try to give you some specific feedback on your work.
